Resistance reduction method for dividing tee of ventilation and air conditioning duct systems

In the ventilation and air conditioning duct system, the energy consumption of local components such as the tee is significant due to the resistance effect. In this paper, the numerical simulation and full-scale test are used to optimize the structure of three dividing tees. It is proposed to optimize the straight pipe wall as a camber surface, and the optimal dimensionless camber surface height is obtained. The research results show that the optimized tee can reduce the local resistance in the direction of the straight pipe. Compared with the traditional dividing tee, the maximum drag reduction rate is 24.20%. The drag reduction effect of the optimized dividing tee is verified by a full-scale experiment.
